Human Dimensions Resource Unit, Cornell University
You just can't make this kind of thing up. The Human Dimensions Resource Unit (HDRU), Department of Natural Resources, Cornell University, is a marketing department for state "game" agencies like the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation. They study what factors influence public attitudes toward hunting, trapping, and the killing of wildlife to resolve human-wildlife conflicts. HDRU studies help wildlife managers expand their economically lucrative wildlife killing business. When reading about their research beware of euphemisms such as "wildlife activities" and "wildlife related recreation" which should be translated as "sport" hunting, trapping, etc.
