Hilton Hotels Plans to Kill Geese in NJ

Your help is needed to STOP a planned goose killing on the grounds surrounding the Hilton Hotel in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

The Coalition has confirmed that the property mangers for the Woodbridge, New Jersey Hilton Hotel have a permit to kill up to 125 geese on the property. Despite having been offered non-lethal alternatives --methods that have been successful in similar places -- the management has indicated that it intends to proceed with the killings.

On site, we have documented bloodied feathers, and evidence of botched, incompetent attempts to exclude the animals and addle eggs. There are broken eggs all over the place. Remaining geese are obviously traumatized. Employees of a nearby office complex have reported men going after eggs and geese with pieces of wood with a nail on the end.

Hilton officials have yet to return calls from concerned individuals and organizations.

• You are outraged to learn of the Hilton's barbaric treatment of Canada geese at their Woodbridge hotel.

• You want them to stop any plans to kill geese and instead use humane non-lethal methods of goose control where necessary.

• You and your family will not patronize Hilton or associated hotels, including Embassy Suites, Doubletree, Red Lion and others and that you will urge neighbors and co-workers to stay elsewhere.
